Deep Water Port Anchorage (Basseterre East)

17° 17.5′ N · 62° 42.7′ W

A workaday anchorage east of town between the deep-water cargo pier and the fishing harbour - less swell than the town front and a few steps from Budget Marine, the fish market and the Coast Guard.

Practical

ActiveCaptain (Jan 2026): anchored in 4 m for a two-hour shopping stop and landed the dinghy in the small fishermen's harbour, where fresh fish and lobster are sold; Budget Marine is next door and the town and supermarkets are walkable. noforeignland users note that anchoring near the fishing harbour reduces the swell that troubles larger boats at the commercial port. Commercial traffic - keep clear of the cargo berth and its approach. Frank B. Armstrong (propane) is in the same C.A. Paul Southwell industrial park.

Best for

Chandlery, fish and propane errands
