A small-boat ramp cut into a 30-foot gap in the rock on the southeast side of Laupahoehoe Point, behind a short lighted breakwater - the only launch on this stretch of the Hamakua coast.
Practical
Position is Laupahoehoe Harbor Breakwater Light 2 (Fl R 4s) from the USCG Light List. The breakwater 'offers some protection for small boats' (Coast Pilot). Trailer boats and tenders only, and only in calm conditions - not a refuge for a cruising yacht.
