A short rainforest loop to 442-foot Akaka Falls and 300-foot Kahuna Falls, about 11 miles north of Hilo above the village of Honomu.

Practical

Loop is about 0.4 mile with stairs and takes under an hour (to-hawaii). Check entry/parking fees and any reservation requirement on the Hawaii State Parks site before going (fees are not given here because they could not be verified in October 2026).
