Kilauea Bay Anchorage

A half-mile-wide bay southeast of Kilauea Point with a narrow fringing reef and Kilauea Stream at its head; an occasional stop only in westerly or kona weather.
Practical
Coast Pilot: open to the trades but offers some protection in west weather; subject to high surf especially in winter and spring; anchorage in 6 fathoms, rocky bottom, near the center of the bay. Coordinate is the USGS GNIS position for Kilauea Bay (approx; confirm in water on chart before anchoring). No facilities.
