Kapalua Bay
21° 0.0′ N · 156° 40.1′ W
A sheltered, reef-protected crescent backed by the Kapalua resort, once named 'Best Beach in the World' by Conde Nast Traveler readers, with clear water at the north end.
Practical
Rocky points and a coral reef shield it from strong currents; snorkeling best on low-wind, low-wave days; water often clearest at the north end. No lifeguards; rocky edges are risky when waves are moving. Restrooms and showers near the beach path; small public lot near Kapalua Place fills early. Start of the Kapalua Coastal Trail. Hawea Point Light (21 00'14"N, 156 39'59"W) stands on the point north of the bay (Coast Pilot).
