21° 25.0′ N · 157° 46.1′ W
The windward side's yacht club in the south-east corner of Kaneohe Bay, finish port of the Pacific Cup race from San Francisco and the friendliest landing for visiting cruisers on Oahu.
Practical
44-503 Kaneohe Bay Drive, Kaneohe; 808-247-4121; kyc@kaneoheyachtclub.com. Noodle's Notes: the club welcomes visiting yachts and offers visitor slips for a nominal fee when available; slip and med-mooring berths, about 7 ft over mud; the basin was dredged to 8 ft MLW but boats drawing more than 7 ft should not enter the inner basin and may be directed to an end tie on the floating pier. Call ahead for availability. City bus stop at the club entrance; Safeway, Foodland and Times in Kailua and Kaneohe are a short bus or car ride away. Small bags of ice at the KYC bar. Diesel: no fuel dock at the club; nearest is Heeia Kea Small Boat Harbor (off-road diesel by arrangement). Approach via the Sampan Channel (draft 7 ft or less) or the Main Ship Channel, then pass Coconut Island to starboard; stay at least a quarter mile off Marine Corps Base Hawaii to the east. Makani Kai Marina (808-235-4416) is across the water.
