Practical
Go Hawaii: reached by four-wheel drive; rare endemic plants and birds. Coast Pilot 10 gives Kamakou as 4,970 ft. Coordinate is the GNIS summit position. The Waikolu Lookout (OSM 21.1306, -156.9212) is on the way up. Road is impassable when wet; go with a 4WD and local advice.
