Vathi Harbour (Meganisi)

38° 39.8′ N · 20° 47.1′ E

Meganisi's main ferry port at the end of a deep, well-sheltered bay, with a town square, tavernas and a small marina next door.

Practical

Berths are protected from practically all winds, but NW winds send a swell in and can push boats onto the quay if the chain is slack (my-sea). In all but strong northerlies sailingissues.com prefers the old harbour in the SE corner: cheaper and right on the town square. Mud with good holding, moderate in places. Water and power at the town harbour (my-sea; sailingissues says some pillars were not working at its last visit). Other options: Odyseas Marina and the short Karnagio Taverna quay on the west side. Several supermarkets, bakeries, a laundry and tavernas. Sailingissues waypoints: Vathy bay 38 40.084 N, 20 46.696 E; north entrance 38 40.400 N, 20 46.400 E.
