Nidri Town Quay
38° 42.4′ N · 20° 42.6′ E
The bustling charter-and-ferry town at the mouth of Vlicho Bay, looking across to Madouri and Skorpios; many Inland Sea cruises start or end here.
Practical
Quay sheltered except in easterlies and southerlies over Force 5; good holding in mud and weed but lay plenty of chain, and keep well off the quay because ferries and tripper boats throw a big wash (sailingissues.com). Most of the 5+ pontoons belong to charter companies (Vlicho Yacht Club, Limanaki Taverna, Sail2day, Iris Hotel pontoon with pool and showers); berths are easiest to negotiate on weekdays, since fleets turn round on Sundays. Other options: the outside of the fishing harbour or the quay just south of the northernmost pontoon. New pontoons for visitors are planned north of the fishing basin. Port Police station at Nidri tel. +30 26450 92509 (24 hours). Supermarkets, fish market, ATMs, fuel stations, gas bottles and the Meganisi ferry are all in town. Sailingissues recommends George's Place, Bardis Tavern and Anna Maria Restaurant over the waterfront tourist tavernas.
Best for
Charter hub with every service, gateway to Skorpios and Meganisi
Season
Apr-Oct; uncomfortable in E-S winds over Force 5
