Marathonisi Dive Site (Turtle Island)
37° 41.0′ N · 20° 52.2′ E · approximate
A shallow dive among the bizarre rock formations off the back side of Marathonisi, with jacks, octopus and triton shells, in the heart of the turtle bay.
Practical
Coordinate is the Marathonisi caves on OpenStreetMap; the dive centre says boats moor on the back side of Turtle Island, about 15 minutes from Limni Keri (Turtle Beach Diving Center). Depth shallow (not specified). Marathonisi is a protected nesting island: anchoring off it is not allowed, so dive with a centre boat. Reefs north and west of the islet are treacherous (SailingIssues). Keep 15 m from any turtle and never touch or feed one (ARCHELON).
Best for
An easy turtle-bay dive for beginners
