Keri Harbour & Limni Keri Anchorage

37° 41.0′ N · 20° 50.3′ E · approximate

Limni Keri is the small resort at the western end of Laganas Bay, under the Marathia peninsula, and the jumping-off point for Marathonisi and the Keri sea caves. Its tiny harbour is packed with fishing and rental boats, so yachts usually anchor off.

Practical

Coordinate is in the bay off Limni Keri beach (derived from the OpenStreetMap beach outline; approximate). SailingIssues: Keri port is cramped with local fishing and tripper boats; best to anchor outside the breakwater or in the bay between Keri and Agios Sostis. The area is in Zone C of the marine park: anchoring allowed, 6 knots maximum (check you are clear of the Zone A and B buoys). Open to the east and south-east. Ashore (OpenStreetMap): Supermarket Limnos and two mini-markets, Chrysi's bakery, two ATMs, tavernas along the beach (Taverna Keri, Tzanetos, Isalos, The Wave, Remezzo), motorboat rentals, and two dive centres (Turtle Beach Diving Center and Nero Sport). Marine park rules (SailingIssues, zanteisland.com, ARCHELON), in force 1 May–31 October: Zone A – no entry, mooring or anchoring, marked by yellow circular buoys 75 m apart; Zone B – entry allowed at 6 knots maximum, no mooring or anchoring; Zone C – 6 knots maximum, anchoring allowed, conical buoys 150 m apart. No spearfishing anywhere in the park.
