Iria Harbour

37° 28.7′ N · 22° 59.9′ E

A tiny fishing harbour in front of the village of Iria on the open east shore of the gulf — only for shoal-draft boats, but a curiosity on the way south.

Practical

Coordinate is the Sea-Seek waypoint (37°28.68'N 22°59.93'E). Sea-Seek: just 2 m at the entrance and 1–1.5 m inside; a swell runs into the entrance in the SE sea breeze. Not suitable for most keelboats. Venetian-era fort and tower ruins at Iria are listed by the Ephorate of Antiquities.

Best for

Shoal-draft boats and dinghy exploring only
