The Holy Monastery of Panagia Elona clings to a sheer cliff face high in the Dafnon gorge west of Leonidio — one of the most dramatic monastery settings in the Peloponnese.

Coordinate from OSM ('Ιερά Μονή Ελώνης'). Sailing Issues: about 17 km from Plaka (35 km from Tyros) — taxi or hire car up the Kosmas road. A waymarked path also links the monastery with Kosmas village (OSM 'Μονή Ελώνας - Κοσμάς μονοπάτι'). The Moorings itinerary lists the cliffside monastery as a Leonidio highlight. Working monastery: modest dress; no visiting hours in our sources.
