Ancient Nirikos & Lefkada Theatre
38° 48.5′ N · 20° 42.8′ E
The scattered remains of ancient Leukas (Nirikos), with stretches of its wall and a small ancient theatre among olive groves south of the modern town.
Practical
Sailingissues.com suggests a roughly 40-minute walk south hugging the canal: the city was abandoned around 1300, and parts of its 4.5 km wall with rectangular towers survive among fields and olive trees. OpenStreetMap marks the Ancient Theatre of Lefkada (Nirikos) at the coordinate, with wall fragments nearby. Hard to find; take water and avoid midday heat. The Archaeological Museum in town displays finds from Dorpfeld's excavations.
Best for
A half-day walk from the marina
