Volos Western Anchorage (Alykes)
39° 19.1′ N · 22° 55.6′ E
An anchorage off a small quay south-west of Volos near Alykes beach, used by charter crews to wait before returning to base.
Practical
Sand and seagrass, about 6 m, good holding (a sailor anchored in front of the small quay). It gives excellent shelter from south-easterlies. The water is murky, so the bottom is hard to see (Grecosailor). No facilities.
Best for
Staging before a Volos return; SE shelter
