Anchorage· Tsougria· Greece — Dodecanese, Sporades & North Aegean

Tsougria NW Bay (Tsougria)

39° 7.6′ N · 23° 29.6′ E

The largest islet off Skiathos' south coast — pine woods, a sandy beach and a beach bar, a short hop from town and hugely popular with day-trippers.

Practical

Anchor off the north-west bay; the seabed drops steeply, so make sure the anchor has dug in. The pier (broken in 2020, fully repaired in 2024) is used by tripper boats and has only 1.4 m at the tip — fine for the dinghy, too shallow to go alongside. Not private (despite an error in the Eagleray guide). Busy: the Sunset beach bar plays loud music and around 250 sunbeds line the beach. No barbecues (forest-fire risk). Quieter options: the SW inlet south of Agios Foros church (39.12122, 23.49409; reef further south) or the twin islet Tsougriaki directly west (39.12630, 23.48026), the best choice for peace and quiet (Sailing Issues).
