Prasouda Islet Reef & Monastery (Pagasetic Gulf)
39° 8.8′ N · 23° 9.9′ E
A small islet crowned by an abandoned monastery that Zoumbosub dates to about 1100 AD. Below it, colourful sponges dot white sand in water of 15 m-plus visibility, with a gentle stepped reef. Zoumbosub likens it to a tropical holiday spot.
Practical
The position is the OpenStreetMap Prasouda islet; the dive is around its shores. Zoumbosub gives a maximum reef depth of 35 m, rates it suitable for all levels, and dives it by boat (no shore access). It is close to the Tzasteni–Milina coast and Alatas, so it makes a good snorkel or swim stop for a yacht in calm weather. No anchoring data was found for the islet itself; anchor in a nearby recognised bay.
Best for
Clear-water reef dive or snorkel with a ruined monastery above
Season
May–Oct
