Oinousses Outer Islets Snorkel (Pasas & islets)

38° 30.1′ N · 26° 16.5′ E · approximate

The uninhabited islets around Oinoussa — Pasas, Vatos and their neighbours — have mirror-calm bays, clear water and what visitors call an impressive seabed, best explored from a dinghy off the west-side Pasas coves.

Practical

Ferryhopper describes the deserted islets' 'wonderful waters and impressive seabed' and the small bays' 'blue, mirror-like waters'. Chios Scuba Diving Adventure Center runs boat snorkelling trips (3 hours, minimum 2 people, €140 on its undated price list — verify locally) and a day cruise with two dives and a visit to Oinousses (€220). The islands are fringed with reefs and isolated rocks (Sailing Issues) — snorkel from a dinghy in calm weather and keep a large-scale chart aboard. Stay inside Greek waters: Pasas lies close to the Turkish coast. Position approximate: the existing Pasas Island Coves anchorage pin.
