Myrina Harbour (Lemnos)

39° 52.4′ N · 25° 3.5′ E · approximate

Lemnos' capital harbour sits under a cliff crowned by a Venetian–Genoese castle, with the town quay, tavernas and the island's ferry port all in one sheltered basin — the obvious first stop arriving from the Dardanelles, the Sporades or Lesvos.

Practical

Coordinate is a point in the harbour basin off the quays, derived from OpenStreetMap coastline geometry; the Port Fund office is at 39.87459, 25.05738 and the ferry terminal at 39.87106, 25.05486. Sailing Issues (page updated 2026): roughly 15 yacht berths — alongside the west pier for about 5 yachts (fishing trawlers also berth here and you may be moved for cruise-liner tenders; the frequent NE pushes you hard onto the concrete, so use all fenders) and about 9 stern-to on the town quay to the north, where anchor holding is 'suspicious'. VHF 9 (one guide says 12); bottom mainly sand with small weed patches; no swell. Mooring fees in cash, about €0.75 per metre (Sailing Issues); harbour office near the clock, mornings only. Water/electricity by card: Sailing Issues says €5 cards from Nautilos restaurant or Lemnos Hotel, while a newer Grecosailor report says cards now come from the kiosk by the small inner harbour, €20 with €15 refunded on return — verify locally. Not all power points work. Open to west winds, which Sailing Issues says blow mainly in Dec–Feb. Port police and Customs are on the quay.
