Livadia Harbour (Tilos)

36° 24.9′ N · 27° 23.2′ E

The port of Tilos at the head of a big bay, a low-key village with a pebble beach and a waterfront of tavernas. 'Chaotic and poorly managed but in a charming way', and a quiet, authentic favourite of Sailing Issues.

Practical

Go alongside on the inside of the mole (the area by the green light may be kept for caiques) or stern-to the waterfront. Ignore the few remaining permanent moorings and lay your own anchor well out over sand (a bit muddy) and weed patches; solid holding. New lazy lines were still not working when Sailing Issues last reported. Harbour master (who also runs the restaurant-bar at the pier): Mr Panagiotis, +30 698 665 3695 (Sailing Issues). Depth less than 1 m at the town quay rising to about 7 m at the mole; protected, but a strong meltemi sends downbursts into the harbour and SE winds make mooring dangerous with swell inside; ferry and excursion-boat wash (mySea). Ask the harbour master when ferries are due. Water and electricity (mySea); a 2016 Noonsite report gives a 6 EUR charge for monohulls and an ActiveCaptain note gives water at 7 EUR per 150 litres (verify locally). Port Authority +30 22460 44350 (Wikivoyage). Scooter and car hire at drivetilos.gr about 250 m south of the quay; 'Omonoia Cafe' is Sailing Issues' first choice for food. The anchorage outside in the bay is exposed to all easterlies.
