Bouka Old Harbour (Kasos)

35° 25.1′ N · 26° 55.4′ E · approximate

Fry's tiny old harbour, the island's former pirate anchorage, crowded with brightly painted fishing caïques under the chapel of Agios Spyridon. It is the prettiest corner of Kasos, especially at night, when underwater lights glow along the harbour.

Practical

Position approximate, taken from the waterfront cafés mapped around the basin in OpenStreetMap. kasos.gr: the old pirate anchorage, full of colourful fishing boats; Agios Spyridon above it has an 1866 carved wooden iconostasis; underwater lighting since 2020. We found no published yacht berthing data for Bouka itself: it is a local fishing-boat basin, and MarinaTips notes very little space in Fry. Visit by dinghy or on foot from the main harbour. Cafés overlooking Bouka: Zantana, Yaeli and Perigiali (Leles). Agios Spyridon feast: 12 December (kasos.gr).

Best for

An evening stroll and dinner around the old harbour
