Each spring Lemnos honours those who fell in the Gallipoli campaign with services at the Commonwealth cemeteries of Moudros and Portianou, attended by visitors from Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
Practical
The 2026 programme (Municipality of Lemnos) was on 28 April: Moudros Commonwealth Cemetery from 10:00 am (memorial service, wreaths, anthems), a buffet and talks at the Moudros cultural centre from 11:30 am, then Portianou Commonwealth Cemetery from 12:45 pm to 1:30 pm. Visit Limnos says commemorations are held each May. Dates vary by year — check lemnos.gr before planning.
