Agios Antonios Harbour (Tilos)

36° 27.6′ N · 27° 20.1′ E

A delightful, tiny harbour on Tilos's north coast below the Knights' castle of Megalo Chorio, with a family taverna overlooking the boats and rarely more than two yachts.

Practical

Room for about three yachts alongside the N or NE mole, more if rafted; once inside, the protection is all-round (Sailing Issues). Depth inside about 3-3.5 m (mySea), but a sandbar extends from the south across the entrance: keep very close to the red harbour light. Boats over about 45 ft should reconnoitre first or come in only in light conditions; little room to manoeuvre. Entering in strong N-NW winds is risky with breaking seas at the entrance; Plaka is plan B (Sailing Issues; mySea). Berths and water free, no electricity apart from a single pillar (ask the fishermen). Tavernas: 'To Delfini' overlooking the port and 'Elpida' 250 m west. It is a 45-minute hike up to the castle, or take the round-the-island electric bus.
