Syros Charter Bases (Ermoupoli & Finikas)

Syros is one of the few island charter bases in the Cyclades, and it is central: Mykonos, Tinos, Paros and Kythnos are each a day's sail away. Charter companies use Finikas and the Ermoupoli quays.

Coordinate is Finikas Marina, which Sailingissues says is used more as a charter base than Ermoupoli. Sailingissues also names Finikas, with Parikia on Paros, as the best Cyclades bases. Luxury crewed yachts and many bareboats also start at Ermoupoli, and brokers list boats at the Lazaretta marina. The area guide lists Escale Yachting among operators (verify current fleets). Changeover is usually Saturday. Fly into JSY or take the ferry from Piraeus or Rafina. Starting here skips the 40-plus-nm open-water legs between Athens and the Cyclades.
