Sifnos Trails

36° 58.4′ N · 24° 43.4′ E

One of the best-marked island path networks in Greece: old cobbled mule roads linking villages, monasteries, beaches and mines, waymarked by Paths of Greece in 2015.

Practical

Ten numbered trails (Sifnos Trails): 1 Agios Andreas–Artemonas 8.6 km; 2 Kastro–Chrysopigi 5.8 km; 3 The Agricultural Road 7.5 km; 4 Platis Gialos–Fikiada loop 11.4 km; 5 Apollonia–Panagia tou Niliou–Vathy 9 km; 6 Sifnos Insiders 15 km; 7 Artemonas–Agios Symeon 6 km; 8 Artemonas–Agios Sostis 5.9 km; 9 Kambanario–Cheronissos 2.4 km; 10 Apollonia–Kamares 5.7 km. Wikivoyage counts more than 100 km of red-and-white-marked trails. Hiking maps are sold around the island. For sailors, 5 (to Vathy), 10 (to Kamares), 2 (Kastro to Chrysopigi near Faros) and 4 (Fikiada) end at anchorages, so one crew can walk while the boat repositions. Little shade, so carry water and avoid midday in summer. The coordinate is Apollonia, the network hub.
