Roukounas Beach (Anafi)

36° 20.8′ N · 25° 47.8′ E

Anafi's largest and best-known beach, a long sweep of golden sand backed by thick tamarisk trees. Campers and nudists drift to one end, families to the other, and a garden taverna sits behind the dunes.

Practical

Coordinates: OSM beach centroid. Facilities: toilets, showers and two tavernas; free camping in summer; often naturist (travel.gr). Travelphoto.gr: campers and nudists on the right as you arrive, others on the left; Rukouna taverna with gardens about 50 m behind the beach. Shade under the tamarisks fills up in high season. By sea, anchor off in sand at about 3 m (see Roukounas Bay Anchorage) and land by dinghy on the sand; watch the charted Rokana reef to the SW. By land, about 3 km SE of the Chora by road (Greeka).
