Prasonisi Shoal Swim (Prassa, Kimolos)
36° 49.3′ N · 24° 35.9′ E · approximate
The shallow sandy shoal joining Prasonisi islet to the Prassa shore, a clear turquoise swim straight off the boat on a meltemi day.
Practical
Sailing Issues: the shoal between the islet and Kimolos has a minimum depth of about 1 m; anchor west of the islet on sand with solid holding. Wikivoyage describes thick white sand and turquoise water. The sources do not describe marine life here, so expect sand and rock rather than a reef. Pin is between the islet's north end and the beach (approx, derived from the OpenStreetMap outline of Prasonisi). Do not try to take a yacht across the shoal.
Best for
An easy swim on a meltemi day at Prassa
Season
Best in the meltemi (Jul–Aug); open NE–SW
