Platis Gialos Beach (Sifnos)

36° 55.8′ N · 24° 43.8′ E

One of the longest sandy beaches in the Cyclades, Blue Flag every year, backed by a resort village of tavernas, potteries and boat-rental outfits, with Kitriani islet offshore.

Practical

Municipality: awarded the Blue Flag, with rooms, hotels, restaurants, grocery stores and pottery workshops (Lemonis family). OpenStreetMap maps tavernas including Omega 3, Maiolica, Yalos, Cyclades, To Steki and Sofia, plus Phournaki bakery, Tourist Market and an ATM. Most island boat trips leave from here (municipality), and Bloomarine and Calypso rent canoes, SUPs and pedal boats. Trail 4 (11.4 km loop via Profitis Ilias Kontou and Fikiada) starts at the last bus stop. Lazarou beach club is over the hill to the west (Wikivoyage).

Best for
