Naxos Chora Supermarkets & Markets

37° 6.3′ N · 25° 22.8′ E

Naxos is one of the best provisioning stops in the Cyclades. Large supermarkets sit on the edge of Chora, bakeries are on every street, and you can buy local cheese, potatoes, beef, wine and citrus straight from the producers.

Practical

Large supermarkets, all from OpenStreetMap: Masoutis (this position, about 600 m from the marina), Kritikos (37.1034, 25.37867), AB Vassilopoulos (37.09913, 25.38497) and Vidalis (37.1094, 25.3838), which Noonsite also lists. Smaller shops line the waterfront (Koutelieris, Kalimera, Verykokkos). There are many bakeries: Naxos Bakery, Yummy Bakery, Artopoio, Baker's Box and others. mySea counts 3 large supermarkets plus many grocers. Noonsite: a morning market outside the Agricultural Bank sells local fruit and vegetables, and there is a good fish market on the waterfront. Buy local wine, cheese (graviera, arseniko), beef, olive oil and citrus. For a big shop, take a taxi back to the boat. Individual entries now cover Artopoio Bakery, Naxos Bakery, Yummy Bakery, Mandilaras Bros Butcher and the Tyrokomia Naxou cheese shop.
