Naoussa Pirate Night (August)

Every 23 August Naoussa re-enacts a pirate raid: 'corsairs' storm the old port from the sea with flares, carry off the village women and run through the lanes, followed by fireworks, live music, dancing and plates of souma, octopus and small fried fish.
Practical
Held on 23 August, nine days after the feast of the Virgin (paros.gr). Organised by the Municipality of Paros with local associations. Expect the bay and marina to be packed: arrive days early or anchor out in the bay and dinghy in. Position: Naoussa old fishing harbour (mySea Naousa harbour entry).
