Monolithos Harbour (Santorini)

36° 24.7′ N · 25° 29.2′ E

A tiny, shallow fishing mole beside the power station on the east coast, north of the airport.

Practical

Grecosailor: sand, good holding in about 5 m; sheltered from the rollers but noisy, because a fuel installation runs 24 hours. There is an oil-tanker mooring area to the north. Sailingissues: exposed NE to S and very shallow, and untenable with any easterly component. Go stern- or bows-to the end of the short mole on a long line. Two unlit buoys lie 300 m north; approach on about 300 toward the power station. Small landing stage, rubbish bins, tavernas and scooter hire ashore. The family beach next door has a play area (Greeka).

Best for

Emergency stop or calm-weather lunch near the airport
