Trail 3 from Mersini down to Livadi beach, with a short detour at the start to the spring under a giant plane tree and a stone archway, its pool home to a few large fish.

naxos.gr trail 3: Mersini-Livadi, 25-35 minutes, difficulty 2 of 5, steep slopes; a detour at the start leads to the spring; a side path goes to Fykio beach and Mersini's small port; sights include the plane tree, Livadi and Fykio beaches and Agia Sophia church. (naxos.gr gives the length as '9 km (.35 miles)', clearly a typo; OSM's route 3 Mersini-Livadi is 0.9 km.) donoussa.gr: a 20-minute path. Weekly Hubris describes the plane tree, stone archway and fish pool. Easy down, tiring back up in the heat; carry water. Position is the OSM Mersini spring node.
