Kedros Beach (Donoussa)

37° 5.8′ N · 25° 48.2′ E · approximate

A sweep of sand just east of Stavros with a stylish beach bar and, a short swim out, a German warship wreck from WWII lying in the shallows.

Practical

Position is approx: placed just south of the wreck that OpenStreetMap maps at 37.0973N 25.8038E, where sailingissues advises anchoring, and checked against the OSM coastline. The bay is affected only by SE-SW winds, so it suits strong NW winds; gusts come from the NE. The wreck is barely visible despite the clear water, so anchor to the south of it with caution, because the seafloor rises sharply. The shoal off the west shore extends further than most charts show (Garmin is correct) (sailingissues). Sailboatliveaboard gives 5-12 m over sand with good holding. George Yachts notes that published depths conflict. Kedros Beach Bar (+30 697 799 1862) is ashore. The village is about 1 km by footpath (donoussa.gr).
