Livadi Harbour Quay (Serifos)
37° 8.6′ N · 24° 31.0′ E
Serifos's only real harbour: a mole and new yacht basin at the south end of Livadi bay, right below the white Chora on its crag. It is the standard overnight stop between Kythnos and Sifnos or Milos, and the base for walking up to the Chora.
Practical
Berth stern-to (some sections alongside) on the mole and the new enclosed basin between the old pier and the village. SailingIssues says most berths now have laid moorings, and in a meltemi you should be on the inside of the basin. mySea gives depths up to about 4 m on the mole but under 1 m along most of the old town quay, and warns of concrete blocks left underwater from the extension works (its notes date from 2015). In a meltemi mySea says to lie on the south side of the mole. e-serifos says electricity and water are available on the mole for a fee, and fuel can be delivered by arrangement. Call the Port Police on +30 22810 51470 or VHF 12 for berth information. There is a slipway on the mole for hauling and launching boats. No published berthing rates, so verify locally. Ashore: ATM, mini markets (ice), car hire, taxi rank and the bus stop for Chora. Livadi gets busy in July and August, so arrive early. The breakwater-head light on Akra Pounda shows Fl R on OpenStreetMap seamark data; check your chart. Expect strong katabatic gusts from the north (see Katabatic Gusts entry).
