Kleftiko Sea Caves
36° 39.1′ N · 24° 20.0′ E
A maze of white rock arches, tunnels and sea caves that you can swim, snorkel or paddle through, with the sea glowing blue inside. The name means 'bandit's lair', and the caves once hid pirate ships.
Practical
Greeka: numerous caves to explore by small boat or swimming; crystal-clear water good for snorkelling and diving; fishermen say monk seals once used the caves but left because of tourism. Swim from your anchored yacht or take the dinghy at low speed; watch for tour boats entering the arches and keep clear of their props. Only in calm seas, as any swell surges through the tunnels.
