Old paths across a steep, terraced island link Chora, Ano Meria and the wild beaches. Many beaches can only be reached on foot or by caique.
Practical
Position approx: Chora. Walks with published times (folegandros.gr): Chora to Panagia, 15 minutes from Pounta square. Livadi to Katergo, 30 minutes. Agkali to Galifos, 10 minutes. Agkali to Fira, 15 minutes. Agkali to Agios Nikolaos, 20 minutes. Ano Meria to Livadaki, three paths of 45-60 minutes. Ano Meria to the Aspropounta lighthouse, 60 minutes (15 minutes from Livadaki). Ano Meria to Ambeli, 30 minutes. Chora–Ano Meria road to Voreina, 20 minutes, steep. Petousis to Livadi, a 3 km dirt track. Ano Meria to Serfiotiko, three tough paths. The municipality runs a separate routes site, routes.folegandros.gr, which would not render for us; check it on your phone. Carry water: most beaches have none.
