Exomvourgo Hike (Tinos)

37° 34.7′ N · 25° 10.1′ E

The jagged rock peak in the middle of Tinos, crowned by the ruins of the Venetian fortress and town that was the island's capital until 1715.

Practical

The walk up from the Catholic monastery of Iera Kardia (Sacred Heart) takes about 20 minutes (Wikipedia); a longer marked route runs Xinara-Exomvourgo-Koumaros-Loutra and on to Kambos (tinosecret). Ramparts once ran 600 m; the town had 677 houses (Wikipedia). Steep, rocky final section; carry water and avoid the midday heat. Pin is the summit node in OpenStreetMap.

Best for

Short, spectacular summit hike with island-wide views
