Drios Bay (Paros)

36° 60.0′ N · 25° 13.8′ E

Drios (Dryos) sits in Trio Bay at the south-east corner of Paros, sheltered behind the islets of Trionisi and Makronisi, with a tiny local harbour, beaches and tavernas.

Practical

Sailingissues: Trio bay gives excellent protection from the prevailing summer NW winds but is vulnerable to NE; hotels, restaurants and kitesurfing ashore. The Trionisi islet anchorage (36.99407 N, 25.23757 E) is usable in SE winds. mySea logs about 7.5 m at this anchorage spot and 10 m further out. The harbour itself is very shallow (about 2 m at the short quay), mostly full of local boats, and best entered bow-to; most visitors anchor in the bay (mySea). Anoussakis Market in the village (OpenStreetMap). Position from the mySea Dryos anchorage entry.

Best for

South-east-corner shelter in a NW meltemi, near Golden Beach

Season

Jun-Sep; good in NW, avoid in NE
