Agios Georgios Beach (Naxos)

37° 5.8′ N · 25° 22.4′ E

The long sandy town beach curving south from the marina, a few minutes' walk from the boat. Its shallow southern end is one of Naxos's best-known windsurf learning spots, with steady meltemi over flat, waist-deep water.

Practical

Organised beach with sunbeds, cafes and restaurants, and a view across to Paros (Greeka). Windsurf schools work from the southern end because the water is shallow and the wind steady; see Flisvos Laguna Windsurf Centre (Agios Georgios) and Flisvos Dive Center (Agios Georgios). Walking distance from the marina, so no need to move the boat. Not an anchorage: it is shallow and in the meltemi fetch. Position: OSM beach relation centroid.

Best for

Swim or windsurf lesson a short walk from the marina

Season

May-Oct (meltemi)
