37° 6.1′ N · 25° 22.6′ E

Every 14 July Chora celebrates the island's patron saint, Agios Nikodimos the Hagiorite, with a church service, a procession of the icon through the streets and a feast with food and drink.

Practical

The date is fixed at 14 July (Greeka). Expect a busy harbour and waterfront that evening. Other village feasts include 8 July (Agios Prokopios), 25 July (Agia Anna) and 15 August (Panagia, best known at Filoti and Apiranthos). The Fishermen's Festival is at Apollonas on 28 June. Greeka lists Panagia Agrokiliotissa at Koronos on Holy Friday as the most important feast of Naxos. The position is the OSM point for Naxos town.
