Adamas Anchorage (Milos Bay)
36° 43.2′ N · 24° 27.3′ E · approximate
The open roadstead off Adamas town and Papikinou beach in the inner part of Milos Bay. It is the place to anchor when the quay is full and you want to dinghy into town for supplies.
Practical
noforeignland users rate the 'Adamantas anchorage' 4.6/5: good holding in sand and well protected from northerly winds, with the town reachable by dinghy; ferries bring noise and swell. Position is approximate (about 300 m off Papikinou beach, derived from the OpenStreetMap beach outline); sound in and keep well clear of the ferry pier's turning area. Like the harbour, this side of the bay is exposed to westerlies and southerlies, which have a long fetch across the bay; in a southerly, move across to Fatourena or Achivadolimni (Sailing Issues). Land the dinghy in the harbour near the yacht quay.
