Tetamanu Shark Shallows (South Pass)
16° 30.8′ S · 145° 27.7′ W · approximate
Blacktip and grey reef sharks crowd the knee-deep sand flat in front of the Tetamanu dive shack: the easiest shark photos in French Polynesia, no tank required.
Practical
Mary Anne II (2017) found the most, and most easily photographed, sharks in knee-deep water just inside the Tetamanu Dive Center shack. The shack throws scraps out of the window. There is good snorkeling in 1-3 m inshore of the moorings, with moray eels. Do not touch or feed the sharks. Coordinate approx: the unnamed OSM restaurant at the Tetamanu waterfront.

Kids and non-divers
