Rangiroa Airport (RGI)
14° 57.3′ S · 147° 39.7′ W
Rangiroa's airport, opened in 1965 on the Avatoru motu between the two villages, with daily Air Tahiti flights to Papeete and other atolls: the easiest crew-change point in the Tuamotus.
Practical
IATA RGI / ICAO NTTG. About 2 miles from the Kia Ora anchorage. In settled weather you can tie the dinghy at a concrete wall in front of the airport to collect guests; in rougher conditions take a taxi from the Ohotu wharf (2011). Air Tahiti office next to the airport (hours in the 2011-era compendium: Mon-Fri 7:30am-11:30am and 1:30pm-4:30pm, Sat 8am-11:30am; verify locally). A Banque Socredo branch is near the terminal.
