Coordinate: Magasin Flores Louise in Rairua (OSM), which also rents bikes at 600 XPF/day (Pitufa, verify locally). Shops in Rairua (two), Anatonu, Vaiuru, by the airport and at the south end of the short route traversière. Groceries carry potatoes, onions and carrots; other vegetables and fruit must be bought from growers. Chugach recommends Henri and Bernard about 4 km E of Rairua on the N coast, and Pierre's honey on the S coast near the E cape (3rd house after the cape coming from the north). Tamaga at the mairie helps find fruit, veg and fish (Moana 2023). Bread: a baker delivers baguettes round the island early; at the Rairua post office stop he had passed by 6:30 am (Pitufa). Edmond in Mahanatoa used to deliver produce to the dock on Fridays (Pitufa).
