Raivavae Fuel and Water

23° 52.4′ S · 147° 39.0′ W · approximate

There is no fuel dock: diesel and petrol come from a single pump at a magasin in Vaiuru, by jerry can, and drinking water is scarce.

Practical

Coordinate is OSM's 'Teehu Manuela' general store in Vaiuru, which matches Chugach's 'pump by Manuela grocery (one of the better stocked)' and Pitufa's 'Vaiura magasin that sells diesel'; confirm locally. Chugach had 10 L of petrol delivered to the boat in Rairua by the station owner at about 50% over Papeete prices (2020, verify locally). 13 kg French gas bottles at some groceries. Water: no public potable system and no well; families rely on rainwater, and water can be scarce in dry spells (Chugach 2020; Pitufa 2018), so arrive with full tanks or a watermaker. Note: Pitufa (2020) reported that the Vaiuru shop owner led the push against yachts.
