King Maputeoa's Tomb (St Pierre Chapel, Rikitea)
23° 7.2′ S · 134° 58.2′ W · approximate
The chapel behind the cathedral holding the crypt of Maputeoa, last king of Mangareva (died 1857), one of several Laval-era monuments that also include palace remains, a turret and coastal watchtowers.
Practical
approx: Wikipedia places the chapel behind St Michael Cathedral. The pin is offset from the cathedral's position, so it may be off by a few hundred metres. Irie (2013) describes the king's grave as up one of the hills, so ask locally for the path. Remains of King Maputeoa's palace and watchtowers are around Rikitea.
