Practical
Coordinate approximate: 2nd left, 1st right, on the left past the post office, bank and mairie. Hours (2019, verify locally): Monday to Friday 7:30am-4pm, wifi on until 5pm. Spend 500 XPF or more to get a code; each device gets a password from the librarian. Moon Rebel (2018) picked up the signal from outside the building, so bring mosquito spray. Vini 4G now covers the town (2022), and the cell signal reaches 10 nm or more offshore between Ua Pou and Nuku Hiva (2019).
