Hakahau Cultural Centre Potable Water Tap
9° 21.7′ S · 140° 3.0′ W · approximate
Hakahau's free drinking-water tap outside the Cultural Centre gives filtered, tested and treated water. It is the one tap in town that is officially potable.
Practical
Coordinate approximate: taken from the OpenStreetMap node for Te Oa Pohue (the cultural centre snack next to the library); the tap is outside the Cultural Centre (Spirit of Argo, Sep 2022). Free to everyone. Locals will point the way, and you will likely be offered a lift back to the shore with your jugs. Moon Rebel (2018) also mentions public taps 'officially' designated potable near the library and craft market, just west of the post office.
