Šunj Bay, Lopud
42° 40.7′ N · 17° 57.3′ E
A shallow sandy bay on the south-east side of Lopud with one of the few true sand beaches near Dubrovnik. The water is pale turquoise over the sand.
Practical
Coordinate is the bay (OSM 'Uvala Šunj'). Anchor in 3–12 m on sand, outside the buoyed swimming area (the 2025 rules ban anchoring within 150 m of a natural beach, so expect to lie well off). Open to the SE, so leave if the jugo (sirocco) builds. Rocks off the south-east point (Skupjeli) and along the north shore. Beach bar and restaurants on the beach; a 20-minute walk over the hill to Lopud village.
Best for
Swimming over sand and a day on the beach
Season
Jun–Sep; avoid in SE winds
