Skradin Town

43° 49.1′ N · 15° 55.4′ E

A small, old river town of stone houses and narrow lanes at the head of the Krka estuary. It was an important Roman and early Croatian town and today lives off visitors heading to the waterfalls. Good konobas, a grocery and the national park ticket office are all on or near the waterfront.

Practical

Coordinate is the town centre (OSM node 1593993648). The park boat to Skradinski buk leaves from the Skradin riva; the ride is included in the park ticket from 1 April to 31 October. Grocery about 300 m from ACI Marina Skradin. No fuel in Skradin; nearest is Šibenik, about 8 nm. Go to the falls early (first boats) to beat the coach crowds, then come back for lunch in town.
